spinning wheel oil
My wheel came with spinning wheel oil. What kind of oil is that? :??
I'm not sure...but I know a lot of people use gun oil as a substitute
I use a multi purpose oil. Some spinners use powdered graphite
sewing machine oil....cheap and it works. Lendrum *supposidly* doesn't need oil...so we'll see on that.
Thank you so much! I was wondering what I could use instead, because that little bottle is expensive after you tack on shipping.
I checked the can last night and it is 3-in-1 oil. works well

Lily,
A Lendrum spinning wheel should be oiled too, it just needs a whole lot less than some other brands of wheels. Its the sealed bearing where the wheel attaches that doesn't need oil on it. I had some trouble with it making a weird clicking noise (it turned out to be a funky bobin- I was so relieved) and the first thing she did when I had it looked at was oil it up. |
