Bernat softee chunky for a sweater

I found this awesome pattern for a sweater using Bernat Softee Chunky. I'm currently using that to make a blanket and I do love the feel of it. Unfortunately I've had a bad experience with making a 100% acrylic sweater. It is like wearing a fuzzy plastic bag! SO has anyone used this yarn for a sweater? How did it turn out? Did it breathe at all or did it have the plastic-bag effect? Thanks for your help!

I tend to be acrylic-phobic. I figure if I'm putting all the effort into a garment, it might as well be a natural fiber.

I don't mind a blend every now and then, especially in the fancier yarns but a natural fiber breathes better and is warmer than acrylic any day.

Just my opinion . . .

I agree also. (The blanket I'm making is for a baby so I wanted it to be uber washable.) I just love the pattern though! Hmmm Maybe I can substitute yarn....
