re-direct me?

I am a very new knitter, and I came across a cute hat pattern that said just that "and join". Could you please redirect me to the post that says what this means?

Thank you so much!

Join means to begin your first round by knitting (or Purling) the first stitch that you cast on. That way you'll begin knitting in the round instead of flat.

Thanks! I played around with my knitting last night, and it worked! I made a circle :cheering:

Now maybe I can attempt that hat pattern.
