Country Silk yarn for socks?

Has anyone used Fiddlesticks Country Silk yarn for socks? It is 50% wool, 30% silk, and 20% nylon. The advertisers feature it made up in shawls and I made the Raj Shawl with it and have enough left for a pair of socks. It seems like it would work OK, but I would like advice from someone with more experience in making socks than I.

Thanks so much.

Here's the yarn:

I've never used it, but judging by the content and the weight, I think it would work for socks.

Thanks for the input. That's what I thought, too, but I've just finished casting on, so I can't tell yet.
