K the knit stitches; P the purl stitches
I am a relatively new knitter working on a stitch that reads
rows 1 and 5: Knit rows 2, 4, 6 and 8 - K the knit stitches; P the purl stitches row 3 - K1, P2, K6, etc Are rows 2 and 6 just knit also, if they were knit in the row before? The swatch doesn't look like the picture I'm working from. What have i missed? |
No it means that you will knit the stitches that look like knit stitches when you are looking at them (meaning that as you are looking at the row you will knit the Vs and purl the bumps) SO after your all knit row you would purl the whole row.
