Ribbing Tension Troubles
:wall: My ribbing (just for an example, we'll say it's a 3x3 rib) is not happening at an even tension. I don't have tension problems with anything else, but for some reason the ribbing is really killing me. Looking at a ribbed portion I've knitted, the knit stitches go from \ / to \ / to \/. So the left-most stitch is loose and the rightmost stitch is tight. I've tried consciously adjusting my tension when I switch from K to P and vice versa, but perhaps I have it backwards in my head. Any help?

Having a loose knit stitch immediately preceding a purl stitch in ribbing is unfortunately a fairly common problem. The only thing I've found that helped somewhat is found here. I've also found that I have much more of a problem with the loose knit stitch when I'm knitting flat. I don't have the problem when knitting in the round.

Yes, I have found when knitting in the round that the problem is virtually non-existant. Thanks!

Some people like to work the loose stitch through the back loop to tighten it up
