Cool Trick For Looser CO

1 Attachment(s)
My friend recently showed me a new trick for casting on looser. I am not sure if this has been posted or if people know about it, but I thought I would share it with you all. All you do is put both of your needles together and cast on, then take one of the needles out and continue to knit. It works really well. I am not sure if I explained this well enough so here is a picture:

That does work, but the only thing I think I'd suggest is not use two of the needles you are knitting with. Use one of your needles and a fairly small one. You only want the CO a little bigger not huge. At least IMO.

Thanks for sharing your hint!

I had to use that for a sweater I'm making that has a lace section at the bottom. It worked out well.

I pretty much always use the same needle i am workinng with... if i am working with circs i just "fold" them in half and cast on that way and then pull the second one out carefully.

The only time I don't is if I am working with needles bigger than a 7 or 8, which is almost never anymore.
