Oh hun lol I couldn't sew something if my life depended on it :) But a blanket stitch is super easy and would work best I think for what you're doing.
Here's a link :) If I can do it.. anyone can LOL http://www.anniesattic.com/cross-sti...?content_id=46 and there's a video :) |
Donna, Thanks for posting that video on the blanket stitch. If you did that around a piece of flannel or fleece...could you then crochet a shell or lace border? Would you use the same yarn for the blanket stitch as for the border? I assume next you would go around with sc...where exactly would you insert your hook? would you do one sc in each of those blanket stitches--in the video's point B? Thanks!
There is also the Edgerydoo product people seem to love, but I may try this blanket stitch first. Would you hem under the fabric first? How do you mark so that you do the blanket stitch evenly, and how wide is your stitch? Thank you!! |
ok
what is edgerdoo all i know about it is everybody loves it sylvia:muah: |
hi donna
i did the blanket stitch and it worked out well thank you sylvia:muah: |
edgeryDoo
i found the site for edgerydoo
this is exactly what i need for trimming or changing size of neck the way i want it and easier for me than sewing sylvia |
I'm sorry I didn't get back to answer--so glad you found the Edgerydoo site. If you order and like it, please let us know! I'd love to edge cloth baby blankets, and it seems a great tool. I think you have to make a surface to use it on, though. Reading comments others make, I think they recommend ceiling tiles or several layers of cardboard???? I've only read about it and seen lovely blankets people made using it.
