Color Sequence Help Needed
I've started a bag that will have eight colors:
A-Peach B-Lavender C-Camel D-Lime E-Yellow F-Blue G-White H-Beige I need someone to help me figure out a color sequence so that the colors do not touch each other. The bag will have eight squares knitted across and twelve rows of squares. ANY help with this is appreciated and thanks in advance. Me brains are a tad fried from hanging and mudding sheetrock all day... Photos of the WIP are in my blog thread at the bottom of the page: http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting...post981751Mary |
start with first row in order, then keeping each row in same order move the squares over 2 spaces.
e.g. abcdefgh cdefghab efghabcd ghabcdef bcdefgha defghabc fghabcde habcdefg cdefghab efghabcd ghabcdef abcdefgh or You could move them over just one square each row to give a nice diagonal effect with each colour edit: like this abcdefgh bcdefgha cdefghab defghabc efghabcd fghabcde ghabcdef habcdefg abcdefgh bcdefgha cdefghab defghabc |
This is what I think:
You have 8 colors and 8 squares across, so you can pick any sequence, then for the next row move the first color to the end, the 2nd to the 1st, etc. The third will have the previous 2nd color (now the 1st color) moved to the end. I can picture this, but it is very hard to explain. Does it make sense? Jints, you posted your reply while I was writing -- your response really makes sense, and is so easy to understand. |
I understand both of you perfectly, Aprilbetty! I so appreciate this and I am going to go with the first sequence you gave, Jints! I love the diagonal idea as well and will be doing one like that as well. :muah:
Changing colors makes the row kinda wavy, so am going to place that row at the bottom of the bag and use the 6th row (BO) for the top. I've decided, since this wave happens, I will make two "Plates" consisting of 8 blocks by 6 row blocks. Using your sequence, I was able to separate all the colors without touching and it give it a nice patchwork affect. I want this to be my knitting bag and make it stand out! |
