Work even/work straight/work in patt????

Hello,
I was wondering whether all these terms -- work even, work straight, work in pattern -- basically mean the same thing, which is to continue doing whatever you were doing??

I have been reading patterns for 3 days now..need a rest soon.

:??

TIA,
Jane

Not quite the same thing... work even means to work in the pattern without making the incs and decs you might have done on the row before this instruction. But yes, they mean to keep going in whatever pattern you've been doing, whether it's stockinette, ribbing or a stitch pattern.
