Hi! I've just found this website and joined. I'm thrilled to find somewhere where I can ask questions.

I'm making socks on 2 double pointed size 1 needles and and decided I wanted to do fair isle on them. I'm having trouble when I have to carry the yarn from one needle to the 2nd needle.

Any suggestions about doing fair isle in the round?

I'm pretty sure you need to do fair isle flat. Why don't you knit your basic sock toe up and switch to knitting flat for the leg to do the fair isle. Or you can knit top first flat then switch for the heel down..

No, Fair Isle is best done in the round. It shouldn't be hard on socks as long as you don't pull the strands on the back too tight. It's not as stretchy so you'll have to take that into account if you do a lot of fair isle on it. If it's just a little band or something it shouldn't be a problem.

I used the two handed method and this is where I learned how.

You need IE to view the video.

Oh and for the record Intarsia is best done flat. ;)
