I finished something!
I'm one of those people that consider a pair of booties or a pair of mittens 2 projects. It's cheating I know, but darn it, I finished a bootie! I wasn't planning on making the other one just now. I made this one because I couldn't sleep at all last night and needed something quick and small to work on. I wanted to test the new yarn I got and see how it knit up (Berroco Suede). I don't think I like the feel of the yarn as it's not as soft or suede feeling as I'd hoped. I did buy some Lion's Brand suede, but it's thicker and I'll need to play with the gauge if I want to use it with this pattern. BUT if the Lion's Brand stuff knits up better, I'm using that one over this. The price difference alone makes it worth it.
Oh yes, and this was my first time knitting into the back of a yarn forward from a previous row (thanks for the help The.Knitter), as well as my first mattress stitch seam. I'm so proud of how the seam came out, you can't even see it.
Any way, on to the pictures :
and for kicks, here's a picture of the baby the booties will be for :
