What's up with knots and fuzzy yarn?

I finally bought some Noro Kureyon. The yarn that has been taking over my dreams for a few months.:aww: I love the colors. So gorgeous and vibrant.
What I'm finding though are knots where the colors are joined and I'm knitting along and the yarn will go from thin to fuzzy. Is this normal? I will be felting it, so none of the knots and difference in thickness will show, but for how expensive it is (for me anyway!) I'd expect better quality.:??

The thick/thin nature of the Silk Garden and Kureyon is just part of the yarn and I think adds to the texture of it.

I don't really understand the knots, either. They always seem to show up where you don't want them. It's the one thing that bugs me about Noro. Other yarns manage to put out a skein without a knot, why not them?

It's so beautiful, though, I guess I'm willing to put up with it.

Ugh- the same thing happened to me with Manos del Uruguay. I love it and I continue to use it, but it has several knots per skein. I usually use the felt join as I haven't used it for felted projects. You definitely would expect better quality from these expensive brands.

It's like they were too lazy to do a nice join, instead just knot it together!
Good to hear it just wasn't my yarn and it's the nature of the beast with Noro.
