Help with *k3, [p1,k1] 3 times

Hi,

I am working on a Debbie Bliss baby shawl pattern and the instructions for row 5 say
*k3, [p1,k1] 3 times, p1 rep from *
so do I: kkkpkkkkpkkkkpkp or kkkpkpkpkp ?

You would k3, p1k1p1k1p1k1, p1 then repeat.
The instructions between the [] are what's done 3 times.
