I need help with instructions!!!
Hello everyone,
I am new to knitting and a little confused with the intrustions I am following. the instructions state the following: Row 3: K2, *yo, slip 1, K1, psso, yo, slip 1, K2tog, psso, yo, K2tog, yo, K3; rep from * to last 9 sts; yo, slip 1, K1, psso, yo, slip 1, K2tog, psso, yo, K2tog, yo, K2. I am having a problem understanding (rep from * to last 9 sts). when I first read it, I thought I should repeat from the * until I had 9stitches left to stitch and then proceed with the instructions, but I then realized that I would need more than 9 stitches to complete the instructions. So now I am very confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! |
No, you were correct in your thinking to follow the instructions after the * until you had 9 stitches remaining. However, you are now following the second part of the instructions after " rep from * to last 9 sts;." If you have 9 sts remaining you will have a sufficient amount of sts to complete the row. This may sound silly, but try counting it off on your fingers (for visualization). If you don't count the 4 yo (because you are adding stitches to replace the ones taken out from k2tog and psso) and you only count the sl 1s, k 1, k2togs, and the k2 you only use 9 stitches.
