How to shape the toe???

Hello!:waving:

I need help with the toe shaping on my socks....my first socks I knit was the baby socks that was on the knitting help cd, and I loved how it turn out. the toe shaping was perfectly round. now I just finish to work on a pair that fit women size 8 and the pattern use 5 dpn. I have no idea if it make any different if you work on 4 or 5 dpn?! anyway the toe shaping look really pointy like an elf shoe:roflhard:

the pattern I used was:
Rnd 1: needle 1, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog,k1
needle2, k1,skp, knit to end
needle 3, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
needle 4, k1, skp, knit to end.
Rnd2: knit.

this pattern is like the one I used on the baby socks, I dont understand way I got this shape :???:

can someone please give a pattern that will give me more round shap, for 4 and 5 dpn......

thank you.

I decrease as you are doing until there are about 36-40 stitches left and then begin decreasing every row until I have 20 stitches left and then do kitchener stitch to end. I don't start my decreasing til about 1 3/4" short of length of foot I want.
