Anybody knit w/ knit picks organic cotton yet?

I was just checking out knit picks new catalog and they've got these beautiful natural cottons in different colors. I'm kind of on a trip of knitting with undyed fiber right now so I'm psyched. But I've never knit with cotton before and so I'm not sure what to expect. I've seen a couple of summer tops I'm excited to knit but the patterns call for synthetic fibers like rayon or nylon.

I'm afraid that worsted cotton just wouldn't be drapy enough. I was thinking I might be able to get it drapier by knitting to the same gague the patterns call for (3.75 st/.in) the sport weight? This is what Eunny Jang advised for the bubble cardigan on Knitting Daily that didn't make it into the Spring 09 issue of Interweave because the worseted weight yarn the pattern calls for was discontinued.

Has anyone actually knit with this yarn who could advise on drape?

I haven't knit with the KP Organic yet, but I have a skein on the way!

My experience with cotton is that I hate using wooden needles with it. It doesn't slide very easily for me. I'm a bit of a tight knitter.

Also, cotton is not as "elastic" as many of the acrylic yarns I've worked with, unsure about rayon or nylon. In fact, cotton is very INelastic. What you knit is what you get with almost no stretch.

I'll take your word for it. I decided that bamboo might be a better alternative in terms of drapiness. But that cotton is soooo pretty I really want to make something with it, just not sure what yet.

What color/weight did you buy, out of curiousity?

MoniDew can't wait to hear your reviews of the new organic cotton yarns!!! SHE LOVES EVERYTHING ORGANIC! In fact, she has several on her wishlist at Webs right now!!! Hehehe! (ps, she uses addi's for yarns that need a slipperier needle)

I got the sport weight in Marshmallow. Making a hat for my mom for Mother's Day :)

I just received the yarn and I've gotta say... this is the softest 100% cotton non-boucle yarn I've ever felt. Soft, not stiff, and the color is beautiful.

I think I may need to convince my hubby to let me buy more to make myself a summer top.
