Best Sock knitting book?
Hi Knitters,
I want to start knitting socks and wonder what your favorite sock books are? I am looking for one that really explains things in an easy way and has lots of colorful pictures. What are some of your favorites?
Thanks for your help!:knitting:

Sensational Knitted Socks is one of my favorites, because it really explains the math involved in deciding how many stitches to cast on, how many stitches go into the heel, etc.

you may want to check out laura chau's book:

she does a great job with explaining the fundamentals of sock knitting and she also some great patterns!

This is not a book but it will definitely teach you how to knit socks.
Silver's Sock Class - right here on the Net.

I agree with Tema:

It's how I learned, and now that I know the basic concepts I feel unstoppable!

Agree with all the above. I just recently bought Socks a la Carte. I haven't made anything from it yet (I'm currently working on a different project), but I've looked through it and it looks awesome!

I think the info on the web and the videos here on KnittingHelp are a great way to learn. Do a plain sock with some ribbing on the leg as a start. Learn that socks are not that hard then go to the library or bookstore and buy books for the patterns.

By using the web resources if you find that you don't like socks, how could that ever happen, then you can frog the yarn and start something else. No cost lost.

Having said this the book mentioned above are great and so are many others out there. You can never have enough books, patterns or yarn.
