Making a Knitting Diagram?

I'd like to make a knitting diagram (you know the kind that shows the measurements, etc for a finished piece) and was told by a friend that she thought there were some "how to" instructions in a knitty.com article. I guess I'm not using the right search terms though.

Does anyone know of an "instructional" thing for how to do this?

THanks.

It's called a "schematic."
Go over to knitty.com and search the Archives.
It's probably somewhere in an article on designing sweaters.

Thanks for that term. Sadly, I'd never had thought of that one. I was using all sorts of words...drawing, doodle, picture, sketch, diagram....

Thanks again. Just had been requested to do one and while I've seen them, had NO clue.
