Need Help understanding instructions

Hi, I'm knitting the Gracie beret, currently stuck on #12 and #13 cos' I don't know how should i comprehend the instructions.

I assume when I do #12/2, I remove the second PM(a2, b2, c2, d2) of each pair. Then when I proceed to #13/2, after purling 19 and sliding PM, do I knit till b1/c1/d1 or to where a2/b2/c2/d2 was ?

If i knit till b1/c1/d1, wouldn't the pattern of the beret change? Looking at the picture on the site, it doesn't seem to be the case.

However I if knit till a2/b2/c2/d2 was, by the time I embark on #12/3, wouldn't it cut i reduce the 19 stitch count to 18 stitch count before reaching a PM for #13.3 ? That doesn't fit with what the instructions.

Please help, I'm trying to finish it before this Sunday :pout: XD

It appears that at this point the pattern would change, since you'd been doing yo's up to this point. Now you're working without the yo's--just knitting and decreasing. You no longer need the second marker from each set since you don't need them as a point of reference anymore.

From this point, only follow the instructions to the markers that are still on the needle, not to where anything was previously.
