flick carder or hand carder
hi,
iv just started to spin wool on a spindle but ran out of wool, i was thinking as pre prepared wool is easily accisible to me i might prepare my own wool straight from the sheep. i was looking at carders and as i am a student i was looking at the cheapest ones possible. the cheaper ones are the flick carders but i was wondering should i not start with a flick carder at all as a student wool preparer, im also thinking mainly about cost. |
I just started as well and picked up a couple of dog brushes at my local PetSmart to use as flick carders. They work great and are affordable for a beginner!:knitting:

great idea
i was thinking that i saw something similar to a carder for just general kind of use but i couldnt think what it was, then i was kind thinking of making my own but the steel pad part of it is expensive.
great im gona go out and buy dog brushes now. |
