Help with I-Cord handle for felt purse
 

I'm working on my first felted project. A small bag with an I-Cord handle. I have the directions for how to do the I-Cord - I think I'm okay with that. I am just not sure about the pattern directions. The directions say to work 3-st I-cord for 34". How many stiches will I cast on for this?
