I think it looks great and I believe the style just has that tendency. If I were you I would not rip it out. No one but you is going to think a thing of it. It is a beautiful sweater.

No problem. You can do it. I used a top down Knitting Pure and Simple pattern last summer and it was easy peasy. I love these top down sweaters. You can try them on as you go, get your sleeves...

I have used a sock yarn from Southwest Trading company which is not warm on my feet. I believe it is Socktina. it has some no wool natural fibers, including I believe bamboo. I love those socks.
