I make the hats for charity - so can't ask anyone for their preference/size. So just wanted a "standard" that would fit most. Sometimes I knit, sometimes crochet.

I've seen charts before that...

I think it is just a typo - should read 12 hdc, meaning total for round 1
Or at least this is how I would read it; actually took me a minute to realize it said 12 dc instead of 12 hdc

I prefer 8" x 8" for dishcloths. Don't like them...

I prefer 8" x 8" for dishcloths. Don't like them bigger because they stretch some when wet. Never thought of making any smaller - 4" x 4" seems really small.

A "dish scrubbie" - actually just a small rectangular version of a dish cloth. I think the stitch would be pretty for other things, done in a soft yarn.

How do you measure

baby booties done in the round. Is it the sole (crocheting on both sides of foundation chain) or is it from the toe to the heel. The sole always seems a little smaller.
