Short rows for shoulder shaping

Hello :D

I am working on a V-neck vest and for the shoulder shaping bind off is used, but it doesn't look very nice (could just be the way I knit!! :oops: ).

Can I use short rows instead? Andh...

I have a "tail" of yarn on both the front and back pieces; do I use these "tails' of yarn to finish off the back neck edge? Or do I use a new yarn?

Help with V-neck vest pattern

Hello :)

I have finised the front and back of the vest (stockinette stitch pattern) and am up to the "back neck band" instructions wich read:

slip 27 sts from back st holder onto needle; slip 3 sts...
