sock loom knitting

anyone know a different way of doing toes on a knitting board? the only one i know is doing the heel stitch for the toes then sewing up the toes, i think it looks awful

Hand sewing onto something knit made?

It's hard to explain...Do I YO and then knit? Or YO then purl the next stitch. Just not sure if knitting after a YO = a YO. Or YO means...

Reading a cable pattern

Row 1 (RS): LT, p1, 4-st RC, p1, 4-st RC, p1, LT.
I assume I put 2 on the cable holder and knit 2 then knit the ones on the cable holder.

Row 1 (RS): P7, 5-st LC, p7.
Not sure what to do here since...
