Squizzer, do make sure you do a decent size...

Squizzer, do make sure you do a decent size tension sample and measure well for fishermans rib, it does not measure like ordinary rib. Good luck!!

Do you know if the socks are knitted flat on two needles where there would be a knit side and a purl side, or in the round? Just a thought, maybe she is doing the heel flap, which does have a knit...

In New Zealand we are now calling our own spun yarn "handspun" instead of homespun.

I think homemade/homespun has the connotation
of perhaps being a bit rough and ready, not proffessional whereas...

I find a container of baby talc powder very handy for those hot humid days when we still want to knit. Sprinkle it on your hands frequently and rub in, it really does help.
