Great tip in the bind-off video

I love Amy's tip in her video. She says to use a size larger needle while binding off. Since my bind-off is always too tight, this has made a world of difference for me.

Binding off in seed/moss stitch

I'm sure I'm making this too difficult, but how do you do it? Do I K1, P1, pass the knitted stitch over the purled stitch, and so on in the pattern?
