Are metal hooks ok on planes? I don't think they could be used as weapons. Plastic hooks just don't work. I've tried lookin' it up on the net but can't find a clear answer.

What she's talking about is called blocking. Stockinette will always curl...unless you have a thick border around it. An iron can melt the yarn.
