I mostly use magic loop, but for very small things, like a small toy I would use DPN. Both are useful methods to know. :thumbsup:

If you're making a top down raglan just cast on less and then increase till you reach the size you need. Using a smaller needle onthe neckline might help, too.

There should be a length measurement on the skein which tells you either meters or yards. What yarn and colorway did you use?

As Rochesterknitter says though it can be an estimate.

Unfortunately there probably isn't much you can do about returning them. If they are only a little loose then one size down may be fine. I use a zero because I knit loose to begin with.

I think Aran and worsted are usually considered interchangeable.

No matter what you call a yarn the gauge on the pattern is what you should be trying to achieve. Because we all knit differently...

RS means Right Side. WS would mean Wrong Side....

RS means Right Side. WS would mean Wrong Side. You can place a removable marker or safety pin right on the fabric on the RS so it'll be easy to remember.
