I did the same sort of thing, using dollar store...

I did the same sort of thing, using dollar store cookie sheets and the same magnetic strips, and then got one of those plastic magnifying pages, it works well for me.

For socks, try sock yarn with 25% nylon, 75% wool or acrylic. Ether will outlast any yarn without the nylon. That is all my daughter will use for the kids socks because they last so much longer.
