It isn't a very thick scarf...Scruncable pattern (on Ravelry) made with Red Heart Soft Yarn. Mostly she wears it under a coat and not wrapped around her neck multiple times.

I am thinking 4.5 feet...

I knit the Irish Hiking Scarf and hat with the VW yarn and had no problems. I used Addi Turbos and bamboo circulars.

That batch must be off.
