when it says "always slip as if to purl" I do it on the right and wrong sides because I am thinking whether I am knitting or purling, and a slip is needed, it should be done purlwise unless otherwise...

WYB (with yarn in back)
At the start of the pattern in a box - note:always slip as if to purl.
Isn't that the same thing as WYF?
