I was trying to do this pattern, then I started the braid cable, when I do it, it messes up the ribbing. The pattern says to continue th ribbing while doing the cable, but I end up knitting the purls...

No I don't think so because I saw a "Knitty Gritty" episode and Bev Galeskas stuffs it, but doesn't sew it up so she can adjust it, then takes the stuffing out and felts it. ;)
