Try using a pipe cleaner.. they bend, and are a little padded w/ the puffiness that is a pipe cleaner. You can also bend the ends down into a little curved bend to keep anything from poking her head.. maybe even add a soft piece of fabric to the ends of the pipe cleaner (felt?) and stitch it on w/ a needle and thread to make sure it doesn't come apart?
