Mitten Woes
Well, I need to vent a little. I've been telling myself that I need to learn how to do the 2-whatever-at-a-time on two circs, or magic loop, or 'something'. And here is just another reason why.....

I just finished a PAIR of mittens (that's right - two of 'em - a left one and a right one) and I'm so disappointed. Even though I used the same yarn, the same needles, and started the second mitten right after finishing the first, the mittens don't match. The right mitten is about 1/2" wider and a little longer. It isn't very noticable when you look at the mittens, but you can really FEEL the difference when you put the mittens on.

I carefully kept track of my rows when knitting the first mitten (even wrote the count down) and knit the exact same amount of rows for the second mitten. I can tell that the gauge is a little tighter (neater?) on the second mitten, so I'm sure that is the difference in the width. But I don't understand the WHY or the HOW this happened since I used the same yarn and needles.

I'm very reluctant to do another project that requires TWO of anything now. Just when I think I know what I'm doing, something like this happens, and I realize that I still have a lot to learn -- like 2-at-a-time on 2 circs perhaps?
