My mom did teach me to quilt growing up...I personally think it's harder to learn how to knit, or mabye that's just me..
If you can sew two pieces together and cross-stich...you got the basics. I don't know of any web-sites, I'll ask my mum. Best suggestion is to look for books. It's alot of trial and error too...Try to find any quilting or independent fabric stores in your area, that's usually where you'll find your quilters and they should have classes.
