That is what I'm planning to do for my 3 year old dd. I have this vague
feeling that I read somewhere (who knows where) that you can adjust
the size of the sweater by just knitting more rounds before adding the
sleeves. You can measure as you go and just work in pattern until
the width is right for across the back and shoulders and then put your
sleeves in.
I'm going to use a worsted weight yarn that is readily available to
me and just the pattern as a guideline rather than follow it to the
letter....isn't that the way patterns are supposed to be used?
