I finished all the white stockinette, and am ready to do the duplicate stitching for my section of the "Go USA" blanket.
I decided to use an alphabet from Tink's Second Book of Duplicate Stitch Patterns for the words, and a chart for a simple star I found online.
First, I counted how many stitches I have available in the stockinette section. ( 94 stitches across, and 21 rows high)
Then, I chose the alphabet I wanted, and copied it down on a graph by hand. Next, I put it into another graph in Excel. Finally, I copied and pasted it into Paint.
It didn't take as long as I thought it would. And, it was actually kinda fun!
Here's the chart I made: (click to see it large)
