If by Loops you Mean the SC of Previous Round
Sam,

I hope that by next loop you mean the top of the next single crochet of the previous round. Note that each crochet stitch has two loops on the top (front and back) so when you say "loop" it can be confusing.

Rnd 4: If you're a knitter you may understand this better as: *single crochet, single crochet, 2 single crochet increase * repeat around the round (total 24 stitches).

You will put a single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches then in the third you make two single crochets in the same stitch.

The key words you seem to have missed in both rnd 4 and rnd 5 was the "in each" single crochet.

For round 5 you will single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches and on the fourth stitch you do 2 single crochet in the same stitch (Total 30 stitches).

Is that any clearer?
