Laura, if you could keep your beautiful children away from all those colorful sliders on that counter, you are doing wayyy better than me. It even looks like a toy!
To keep track of intricate patterns with counting rows, I usually make a notecard for every line with the instructions written in a way that makes sense to me, and I do little boxes to check off at the bottom of ones that are repeated. Then I hide the whole mess away from the children. Sometimes not well enough.
