To knit (flat) finger-less arm warmers

My problem is, LYS person said I may need a smaller diameter needle to knit these warmers (my Options only go to size 4?...) what size should I get? I want the warmers to not be "holey" if that makes sense. Incidentally, the yarn is Koigu
