Cannot learn to knit
Hello, my name is Kay, and I'm the only one in the world who does not understand how to knit! I've been crocheting and sewing for decades and have done quite a few nifty macrame projects. But, for the life of me, I've spent the last 2 days trying to learn how to knit through watching online videos, surfing different knitting websites, and looking through stacks of craft books with knitting instruction and I still don'[t get it. I found out there are different types of casting on, and I use the single cast on method. I understand the knit stitch and the purl stitch, but when I attempt to do them, my stitches are either too tight or too loose, and always inconsistent. By the 2nd row, the stitches are so tight, I can't maneuver the needles and I have take the yarn off the needles and star all over again. I'm on my 35th try and growing frustrated. Is there an easier way or do I just limit myself and use one of those little plastic looms like 5 year olds use? I feel like such an idiot!
