there is another way: knit one stitch, slip the next with yarn in front and then work that way to the end of row. turn your work. Now knit the stitches you just slipped and slip the stitches you just knit with yarn in front... it's called knitting in the round on straight needles.
2 needles only, no "mass slipping" of stitches, just working alternatingly.
