I just learned ribbing about a week ago, and I've been practicing like crazy. I've gotten much better, but my ribbing still looks kind of unruly. I read that blocking is used to even out stitches and make the piece look more uniform. So here's my questions:
Can I block ribbing? The pattern I am following says to block except for the ribbing, and I'm not sure if it says to not block the ribbing because it can't be blocked, because it will ruin the ribbing, or simply because that's not what the maker of the pattern did when knitting out this pattern.
Additionally, what can I use as a make-shift or cheaper alternative to cork board for a blocking board? I think I heard somewhere that cork is relatively expensive, and I don't really have the money right now.
Thanks in advance!
