Yeah, pull the cast on off the needles and start over. We all do that even when we are more advanced when things don't work out.

If you only have the two needles just cast on, but don't pull the yarn too tight. Don't worry about the knitting being pretty or perfect at this point. All that's important is that you learn the stitches and practice. If it looks bad just keep going. You'll be surprised how much better it starts looking soon.
