Beth Brown-Reinsel's book Knitting Ganseys is about making traditional fisherman's ganseys in the round from the bottom up (you divide at the armholes and do front and back separately flat), with no seams. Sleeves are also knit shoulder down in the round. This book is really good for learning basic sweater construction and you can use the basic techniques you learn in it to do other types of sweaters besides ganseys. You may be able to find this book at a library. Working your way through the book is like going to a workshop. I highly recommend it.
