You'll inc on the knit rows, so just do one at the beg and end of the first row and don't worry about the extra sts. Then purl the WS row, no problem there. The next row will inc another st so you would work it like this....
Just knit the first st, inc, k5 (p1, k5) then inc and knit last st.
Next RS row, k first st, inc p1, k5 (p1, k5) p1, inc k last st.
Next RS row, k first st, inc, k1 p1 k5 (p1, k5) p1, k1 inc k last st.
Next - k first st, inc, k2 p1 k5 (p1, k5) p1, k2, inc k last st.
Next - k first st, inc, k3 p1 k5 (p1, k5) p1, k2 inc k last st.
And so on.
