It's easy in a lace pattern like this to forget a yarn over or to have one or two slip off the needles. I would look back at the scarf and see if I could spot where there might be a missing yo. The rows I checked all have 45sts and that's what you need to start the pattern repeat. It won't help with your current problem but it will help in the future if you put in a lifeline (see Free Videos, Tips). Markers may not be so helpful in this pattern because of the way the pattern shifts, but you could try stitch markers as well, just to make counting easier.
