Way up at the beginning of the directions it defines dec 2 as "(decrease 2 sts) = slip 2 sts together knitwise, knit
next st, pass the 2 slipped sts over the knit st".

(A k2tog is only a decrease one st.) Very pretty baby blanket. Good luck with it.
